Itinerary
Kakadu has been recognised as a World Heritage listed place and a key element of Australia’s great national landscapes. Learn more about Aboriginal culture and tradition, view impressive rock art and spot for crocodiles on the Yellow Waters.
Relax in comfort as we journey towards World Heritage listed Kakadu National Park. At our first stop you will receive a traditional ‘Welcome to Country’ from the local Limilngan-Wulna Aboriginal people who operate the Pudakul Cultural Experience. Take a guided botanical interpretive walk to learn about bush-tucker, followed by activities including weaving, didgeridoo playing and spear throwing. We travel to Cooinda for a buffet lunch and then board a Yellow Water Billabong boat cruise. One third (approx.) of Australia’s bird species are represented in Kakadu National Park, with at least 60 species found in the wetlands. Whistling ducks and Magpie Geese are the most abundant.
From here we travel to Nourlangie, where, after a moderate walk, you will view impressive Aboriginal rock art which depicts Aboriginal mythology. Your guide will provide you with a deeper understanding of the Aboriginal culture and Dreamtime stories. We board our airconditioned coach for the return journey to Darwin, arriving at approximately 8.00pm. (L)
