Itinerary
Day 1: Darwin – Kakadu
This morning we travel along the Arnhem Highway into Kakadu National Park. Stop at Nourlangie Rock, where your Guide will lead a walk to view ancient Aboriginal rock art. After lunch (available for purchase) we join our local guide for a cruise on Yellow Water Billabong. Enjoy spectacular scenes of paperbark swamps, waterlillies, bird life and you may be lucky enough to spot a saltwater crocodile. We make a visit to the Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre. Overnight in tented accommodation at the Kakadu Culture Camp. (D)
Day 2: Jim Jim and Twin Falls – 4WD Adventure
Watch the sun rise over Kakadu as we travel deep into Kakadu to Jim Jim Falls Gorge. A short bushwalk and climb through monsoon forest will take us to the spectacular Gorge, where you may take a refreshing swim. Then a short drive to Twin Falls Gorge, where we cruise to the base of the falls. Late afternoon return to Kakadu Culture Camp. (B L D)
Day 3: Arnhem Land – 4WD Adventure
No trip to the 'Top End' is complete without a visit to Arnhemland. Arnhemland was handed over to the Aboriginal people over 50 years ago. We use on of the privileged companies to be granted access to this area by the Traditional Owners (Lords Kakadu & Arnhem Land safaris). And they are the only tour company with access to the heart of Minkinj Valley. Visit the Bowali Visitor Centre prior to returning to Darwin. (B L),
