The Recruitment Process

Stage One: Submit your online application form

Please review the position information carefully. If you think you have what it takes to be a member of the OzExperience Team please complete our online application form. Only online applicants will be considered.

Stage Two: Oz Experience Australia Presentation and Round One Interviews

Successful round one applicants will be contacted via email. We will invite you to our first round interviews. This will include a short presentation on the position and the company, followed by a short first round interview. During your interview, you will be given ten minutes to tell us about yourself, why you would make a great tour guide and why you would like to work for our company. Please prepare by viewing our website.

Please bring the following to your round one interview:
• A copy of your resume. You will need to include two professional referees who we can contact for verbal support of your reference

Please also bring a copy of the following should you have them:
• Current Senior Level First Aid certificate
• Current NSW or Interstate Driver’s License
• Current NSW or Interstate Driver’s Authority
These copies may not be returned to you.

Candidates who have successfully passed round one will be invited to attend a round two interview.

Candidates who are deemed unsuccessful after round one will be advised via email.

Stage Three: Round Two Interviews

Round two involves personal interviews. If you are successful you will be offered a place on the Oz Experience training programme.

After accepting the invitation to join our east coast team, our Recruitment Manager will assist you with your final preparations ensuring your transition is smooth and hassle-free.

Stage Four: The Training Programme

The three week comprehensive Oz Experience Driver Guide Training Programme gives you the tools you need to conduct safe, fascinating, informative and fun east coast tours. Discover the big picture as you learn about;
• Australian history, east coast regional information, aboriginal culture, geology, flora and fauna
• basic diesel mechanics and heavy vehicle training
• product familiarization and sales training
• procedures

Allow the power of this ancient land to wash over you, changing you in ways you could only dream of….and change other’s lives as you share this knowledge and splendour. Enjoy the magic of tour guiding.

Note: (1) You will be assessed throughout the entirety of your training and employment is not guaranteed until you successfully pass the training programme. (2) While you are unpaid during your three week training course, all on-the-road training will include meals, accommodation and activities free of charge.

Stage Five: Probationary Driver Guide

We take the responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of our guests very seriously. We must also support and prepare our guides for the real thing. After successfully passing the training programme, you will progress to probationary driver guide status with Oz Experience. Congratulations! You will continue to be assessed during this three month probationary period. After the probationary period you become a fully fledged driver guide and Australia becomes your oyster.
