Itinerary
Leaving Melbourne, we pass through coastal town Torquay, before stopping for morning tea at Bells Beach, famous for its impressive surf. As we twist and wind our way along the spectacular Great Ocean Road, you’ll enjoy loads of great coastal photo opportunities. We’ll even stop to cuddle wild koalas!
We reach the seaside town of Apollo Bay in time for a delicious lunch (at own expense), and there’s time for a swim in the magnificent Southern Ocean. After lunch , stretch your legs in the Otway National Park as we explore an ancient rainforest with some of the world’s tallest trees. Next, we travel through rolling hills to Port Campbell National Park to the giant rock stacks of the 12 Apostles. There’s many tragic tales of shipwrecks at Loch Ard Gorge, with its remarkable rock formations. Check out the now collapsed London Bridge and the quaint fishing village of Port Campbell.
Turning back towards Melbourne, you’ll have a day packed full of nature, wildlife, surf and spectacular coast to reflect on. We’ll stop in the township of Colac for dinner (own expense).
