Itinerary: day by day

Day 1 – Alice Springs to Uluru

DEFAULT PICK UP (begin Alice Springs): Haven Backpacker Resort, 06:10am

DEFAULT PICK UP (begin Ayers Rock): Desert Gardens Hotel, 1:45pm*

Flanked by rugged hills and ridges, Alice Springs is the gateway to Central Australia and the Outback. Spectacular Uluru awaits with its amazing colours. Explore its vast base and discover ancient Indigenous art and learn about the waterholes that bring life to the surrounding desert. Learn about one of the oldest cultures in the world with a visit to the Uluru and Kata Tjuta cultural centre. In the evening, enjoy a breathtaking sunset over Uluru with a glass of sparkling wine. Day 2 – Kata Tjuta to Kings Canyon Region

View a spectacular sunrise over the Red Centre at Kata Tjuta. Hike through winding gorges and past sandstone domes in the magical Valley of the Winds. Tonight, enjoy a traditional bush dinner cooked in the coals of the campfire. (BLD)

Day 3 – Kings Canyon to Wallace Rockhole

Hike between sheer cliffs and diverse plant species at Kings Canyon, then explore the Garden of Eden rock pool. Make tracks to Hermannsburg - a mission famous for its Aboriginal art and crafts - to learn about the life of renowned Indigenous artist Albert Namatjira. Drive through the sands of the Red Centre to Wallace Rockhole Aboriginal Community. (BLD)

Day 4 – Western MacDonnell Range to Alice Springs

Visit Wallace Rockhole's ancient paintings with a local guide before continuing on to the Western MacDonnell Ranges. Explore the earthy beauty of Standley Chasm and perhaps take a hike to spot local rock wallabies. (BL)

  • Tour is operated by our touring partner Intrepid Connections.
  • Tour may commence in either Alice Springs or Uluru, however, must finish in Alice Springs.
  • *Flights must arrive at Yulara Airport no later than 1:25pm. If you arrive on the JQ660 flight at 135pm, we can collect you directly from the airport at 2:15pm – please advise at time of booking. Passengers arriving on flights after this time may forfeit day 1 afternoon activities.
  • **A host will accompany the guide with a minimum of 8 passengers.

  • Tours must be reconfirmed 48hrs prior to departure by phoning 1300 654 604 (within Australia).
  • It is you or your clients’ responsibility to contact Adventure Tours with your preferred accommodation pick up point. Please contact our inside sales teams for information on other available pick up points. If we do not hear from you, we will assume you will make your way to our default pick up point as listed on this document. We will not be responsible for missed pick-ups (and a missed tour) if we do not receive notification from you or your travel agent, and if you are not at the default pick up point at the appropriate time.
  • A STRICT luggage limit of 15kg applies. Excess baggage should remain at your Alice Springs accommodation.
