Adventure Tours Australia donates money, supports good causes, endorses, involves itself with and highlights worthy initiatives across a wide spectrum of indigenous, social, wildlife and employee communities.
These are some of them.
Adventure Tours Australia Supports...
Adventure Tours Australia supports the 'It's All Relative' (Bringing Australians together) Indigenous Roadtrip
Adventure Tours Australia proudly supported the 'It's All Relative' (Bringing Australians together) Indigenous Roadtrip project by donating the use of a minibus and trailer for the Roadtrip between Alice Springs and Sydney, taking in Mount Isa, Carnarvon National Park, Surfers Paradise and Byron Bay.
Paige Shreeve (Health Educator from the Aboriginal Resource Development Services, Winnellie, Northern Territory) had this to say about the support recently:
"I am writing to express my sincere thanks that Adventure Tours Australia has agreed to support our Indigenous Road trip project 'It's All Relative' with the use of a coaster bus and trailer from Darwin to Sydney (27th Nov to 27th Dec 2007)."

Adventure Tours donates AU$100 to an Oxfam charity walk
Adventure Tours Australia recently donated AU$100 toward an Oxfam charity walk being completed one of our long serving Tour Guides 'Watto'.
Watto's team of four had to walk 100km in 48 hours. The team had to get sponsorship with all proceeds going to Oxfam to fight poverty and injustice through their many worldwide projects.

Recognition of our Darwin Business Manager, Charlie Hadlow
Adventure Tours' Charlie Hadlow was recently recognised with a certificate of thanks by the Northern Territory Youthworx Local Community Partnership program.
Charlie conducted an information day for 7 local high school tourism teachers about Adventure Tours operation in the Darwin / Kakadu National Park area. This gave the teachers greater understanding of the different jobs in a tourism business.
Since the information day was conducted, 1 student has started work experience at the Darwin Operations base. Potentially, this student could become an apprentice mechanic with the company which would be a great start to what will be an enduring relationship with the Youthworx program.
Adventure Tours’ Tasmanian Operations team donate money to the Tasmanian Devil Conservation Fund.
Adventure Tours’ Tasmanian Operations team are passionate about raising awareness of the Tasmanian Devil. They have been donating proceeds of passenger donations from magazine and bottled water sales to the Tasmanian Devil Conservation Fund.
The Tasmanian devil cannot be mistaken for any other marsupial. Its spine-chilling screeches, black colour, and reputed bad-temper, led the early European settlers to call it The Devil. Although only the size of a small dog, it can sound and look incredibly fierce. Today, however the devil is only found in Tasmania.
Tasmanian devils are wholly protected. The Devil Facial Tumour Disease, which is now having a devastating effect on the Tasmanian devil population was first noticed in the north-east of Tasmania in the mid-1990s but has become more prevalent in recent times in other areas of the State. The Tasmanian devil is now listed as vulnerable in Tasmania.
Adventure Tours Australia and Benelux agents Adopt A Penguin
On a recent Tourism Australia organised and ATA hosted 4 day familiarisation for 21 travel agents from the Belgium, Luxembourg and Netherlands region, the agents with ATA Sales Manager Annie Giaro organised to sponsor a Phillip Island penguin.
The penguins are under threat from predators and human interference with their environment.
The penguin has been affectionately named "Porky von Gunther V" by the agents.

Support for Cairns Animal Carer Organisations
Adventure Tours' Charters Manager, Vicki Moore, who is based in Cairns has been busy with ongoing money raising and donations on behalf of ATA to these local animal charities:
- The Cairns Frog Hospital
- The Cairns Wildlife Centre
- The Cairns Turtle Rehabilitation Centre
Jenny Gilbert from The Cairns Turtle Rehabilitation Centre recently wrote to Vicki:
"I thank you again so much, the turtles enjoyed their 'ala carte'
prawn cocktails every night. Hopefully I am going to take two back in a
couple of weeks, and we have managed to get a green turtle in from
Bloomfield river. All the best, we are so appreciative of your
assistance, Jennie"
