Adventure Tours is the leading small group tour operator in Australia. We're a bunch of Aussies that have been leading travellers through this big ol’ continent over the past 24 years.

Informative and immersive, our tours are for those looking to develop a true-blue understanding of Australia’s inner-workings – and have a great time while at it. We take one comfy, air-con equipped 4WD or minibus, load it up with a knowledgeable guide, a bunch of fellow adventurers, tents, swags and some packed picnics, then head out into the wilds. The whole outfit is far more your classic Aussie road trip than it is a standard charter bus tour – just with someone looking after the driving and navigating for you.

Expert guides

Our guides are an enthusiastic and informed bunch who get a real kick out of taking you through what they know and love about their country. They've all got comprehensive training in first aid, driving, fatigue management, environmental awareness and local history and geology, so you can expect your experience to be as enjoyable as humanly possible. We're pretty proud of them.

Environmental awareness

We’re big believers in sustainable tourism and big doers when it comes to reducing our carbon footprint. We use the eight principles of Eco Certification in all our on-ground operations, from selecting the campsites we stay at to maintaining our transport fleet and camping equipment.

Included extras

The majority of trip components – national park entrance fees, most meals, the defining activities in a place – are included in your trip. We have a list of optional activities on some trips too, like boat cruises through croc-filled waterways or camel rides through the desert, to give travellers the opportunity to do something a little bit different. Keeping these as optional extras help to keep the trip price down and ensure you’ll only be paying for the activities that you actually want to do.

Exclusive Accommodation

From working cattle stations to well-appointed wilderness lodges, desert campsites to underground bunkhouses, the accommodation we use is all part of the ATA experience. Some of it may be a tad rustic, but we believe evenings by a campfire and nights in a canvas tent or swag are the best ways to meet the Outback.

We’re pretty chuffed to have picked up a few awards in our years of operation. Our most recent win was Best Tour Company and Best Tour in Australia (for our 10-day West Coast trip) at the 2015 Golden Backpack Awards. We’re also the only small group company with an in-house training program for our guides. You can admire our full trophy cabinet here.
