Everyone is very confused"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Greece is blessed with a bounty of natural wonders: the craggy hills of Meteora, the\u00a0black\u00a0sands of\u00a0Santorini&#8230;the Twelve Apostles. Wait, what? Rewind that last bit.<\/p>\n<p>Turns out Greece&#8217;s latest tourism video includes a short clip of Victoria&#8217;s greatest coastal attraction, which happens to sit 15,015km away from, you know, <em>Greece itself<\/em>. The short Apostles clip, which was actually taken without authorisation from the work of local filmmaker <a href=\"http:\/\/www.terrastro.com\/alex-cherney\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alex Cherney<\/a>, appears incongruously alongside more traditionally Grecian vistas, like the Acropolis and Mykonos etc.<\/p>\n<p><iframe width=\"1170\" height=\"658\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/to9cGLK1PxA?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>When pressed about why Greece was using Australian landmarks in their tourism videos, The Greece National Tourism Organisation \u00a0defended\u00a0its\u00a0choice, saying\u00a0the <em>stars<\/em> above the Twelve Apostles carry Greek names.\u00a0\u201cThe mythology of the sky at all latitudes and longitudes of the earth is Greek,\u201d they added\u00a0in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.abc.net.au\/news\/2014-11-16\/greek-tourism-authorities-caught-using-twelve-apostles-victoria\/5894934\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">statement<\/a>, which feels a little like the Tourism Board equivalent of the Dad from My Big Fat Greek Wedding:<br \/>\n<iframe class=\"giphy-embed\" src=\"\/\/giphy.com\/embed\/l42Pfvf9gygWuCwJG\" width=\"480\" height=\"240\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Cherney, whose footage was used without his permission, has since been compensated by the Greek National Tourism Organisation, but the shot of Victoria&#8217;s eroding coastline remains in the film, beautiful and confusing in equal measure.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>We can&#8217;t help you with a trip to Greece, but we can do the Twelve Apostles.
