Adventure Tours Accommodation Styles

Whether you’re keen to sleep under the stars, prefer the comfort of an eco tent, or want a private room to recharge—our tours offer a range of accommodation styles to suit your adventure. From rugged flat swags by the campfire to comfortable hotels and social hostels, there’s an option for every traveller.

Flat Swag

Sleep under the stars by the campfire in a traditional Aussie flat swag—a tough canvas bed roll with a built-in mattress. Just pop your sleeping bag inside for warmth and you’re set. No poles, no fuss—swags are the simplest way to camp in the outback, with shared showers and toilets nearby.

While it may sound daunting, sleeping under the open sky in one of Australia’s most remote regions is surprisingly safe. The dry air keeps insects away, and the sparse landscape means few night-time critters.

Best of all, swags offer a unique sense of connection with nature, perfect for first-time campers or seasoned adventurers seeking something real.

Permanent Eco Tent

Stay in a twin-share permanent eco tent—complete with bed, mattress, pillow, linen & towel, with shared showers and toilets nearby.

Built from durable canvas on raised on wooden platforms, these semi-permanent tents offer a low-impact, sustainable way to sleep comfortably in nature. Mesh windows and roll-up sides provide natural airflow.

Eco tents offer a comfortable camping experience that balances nature with practicality—ideal for those who want to enjoy the outdoors without roughing it.

If you’re travelling solo, you’ll be paired with someone of the same gender. Single supplements (your own tent) are available on request only, at an additional cost.

Hotel & Motel

Enjoy a comfortable stay in twin-share rooms at 3–4 star hotels, motels, or lodges, each with private ensuite amenities.

Ideal for travellers seeking a bit more comfort at the end of the day. Single supplements (your own room) are available on request only.

Hostel

On our East Coast and Southern States tours, accommodation is in hostels and backpacker resorts – 4 to 10-person mixed dorms (single-gender in Western Australia) with shared bathroom facilities.

It’s a social, budget-friendly way to travel, perfect for meeting fellow adventurers.

Private twin, double or single room upgrades with shared facilities are available on the Taste of Tasmania tour for those seeking a little more privacy.

Adventure Tours Transport

Our tours use purpose-built minibuses and 4WD vehicles, all with air-conditioning, seatbelts and forward-facing seats to ensure a safe and comfortable ride.
Whether you’re cruising through the Red Centre, tackling rugged Top End tracks, or exploring the wild West Coast, each region has a specialised fleet to suit the terrain.
